Winery Review: “This is a fresh style of Merlot, and super affordable. Bright red-cherry, purple-flower and fresh herb aromas lead into a juicy palate with just enough texture to hold up the black-cherry and root-beer-spice flavors.” - Matt Kettmann – 89 – Wine Enthusiast

My Review:
For me, this was a middle of the road wine. I could tell it is probably not a wine you are not supposed to drink without pairing it with a food. It had a very sweet and dessert forward smell with notes like vanilla and raspberry. The wine tasted very different that what my olfactory bulb had picked up. The wine had an extremely dark color, it was extremely tannic, drying out my mouth, and I could just base this taste on the other wines that the body of this wine is very complex. The taste of the wine was oakey, with hints of cherry at the end. It also was a bit peppery and gave a small burn down the back of my throat. This was a very thick and full bodied wine, and allow the smell and taste didn’t line up so well, I still found it very tasty and different. I believe with a food pairing, I would of been able to pick up more on what this wine had to offer.
