Tasting : A Spicy Shiraz

Charmer

Winery Review: Allow yourself to be drawn in by The Charmer. This spicy Shiraz captivates the imagination from the first moment with tantalizing aromas of blackberries and plum. Fresh, ripe raspberry and strawberry notes topped with a touch of black licorice charm the palate.
My Review: Well I thought the Cabernet tasting went really well so I was very excited to keep going. Well boy oh boy the word “terroir” really struck home with this one. I was not a fan of this at all. I was curious to how a wine could be “spicy” but I did find some spice (black pepper) notes to it and I did not enjoy. Also, black licorice!? Definitely a wine not meant for my taste buds. It also was not as smooth and tasted more acidic than the cabernet. So I say, on to the next!
Wine Folly: My
Textbook of Wine Folly has not came in yet but I will re-edit this when the
time comes.
